PSYCHOANALYSIS
AS A THERAPY
In psychoanalysis, the human being is the subject of his/her life, his/her destiny. Subject in both meanings of the word: one is the actor of one’s life and simultaneously, the plaything of one’s often rueful unconscious.
This approach is the key to my practice, the very reason I chose psychoanalysis to be my ground method.
Identifying your troubles in order to overcome them is often met with powerful resistance. Something within us does not want to give up, even if it is at the cost of our improvement, for this is part of whom we are. Resistance becomes part of the healing process.
Our failures tell us something about ourselves that deserves to be listened to. Only then can we soothe the pain and, hopefully, move forward as a stronger and freer person.
